The Air Quality Services Environmental Specialist or Engineer-CEMS will provide enterprise-wide compliance and program implementation support for power generating station continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) and will also be responsible for compliance support for fleet-wide stack emission tests. The individual will serve as a subject matter expert and will provide support for data acquisition and handling systems (DAHS).
Requirements
- Coordinate and perform compliance and support activities such facility-level permit and Part 75 interpretation, stack testing, quality assurance reviews, program improvements, training sessions, federal reporting, and compliance audits.
- Provide facility-level compliance support for CEMS and DAHS, including troubleshooting, complex/advanced data analysis, and resolution of issues.
- Serve as an internal expert resource for program regulations, CEMS monitoring and stack test methods and procedures.
- Develops, recommends, and implements plans to address complex compliance problems that require the input and effort of a wide array of entities both internal and external to the company.
- Ability to swiftly prioritize tasks to ensure responsiveness and support to stakeholders, which may be on a time-sensitive or expedited schedule.
- Identify, resolve, and initiate solutions to complex problems that are unique to the company and require extensive specialized knowledge, or the development of knowledge and techniques.
- Lead, facilitate and coordinate work activities of others within work group, team, department, or those external to the company (e.g., consultants) and assumes the role of project manager to perform compliance work.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication and leads in the preparation and presentation of the most complex technical subjects, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, bringing in ancillary issues before senior management, professional organizations, regulatory bodies, etc.
- Identifies and initiates proactive comments or changes to regulations and standards, in the interests of the company, and engages multiple stakeholders in the process, networking throughout AEP, other companies, professional organizations, and regulatory agencies.
