Job Description
American National is seeking a Director & Actuary for our downtown Houston, TX or Des Moines, IA locations! The role involves contributing to the development of scalable pricing frameworks and assumption methodologies, enhancing rate setting and reinsurance pricing, and shaping pricing execution across the organization.
Requirements
- Perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses related to annuity pricing and modeling.
- Lead rate setting and reinsurance pricing for flow annuity products, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Support ad hoc pricing for M&A and strategic growth initiatives.
- Prepare and present actuarial exhibits and summaries to senior leadership, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators.
- Ensure documentation and execution of actuarial analyses align with the SOA Code of Professional Conduct and Actuarial Standards of Practice.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior actuarial staff.
- Utilize GGY AXIS for modeling; experience with the platform is considered an asset.
