Job Description
Inspect, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, install and repair of collection system facilities; including not limited to; sewer lines, manholes and service laterals; and pumping and flow control facilities.
Requirements
- Valid Virginia driver’s license and a CDL license with air brake and tanker endorsements
- Water or sewer operator’s license
- Mechanical ability sufficient to understand the operation of pumps, valves, motors and other mechanical equipment
- Working knowledge of wastewater collection systems
- High School Diploma or GED
- General plumbing skills
- General computer skills
- Ability to work in environmental conditions including contact with wastewater, chemicals, fumes, odors and dust
- Ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. maximum
- Ability to travel to other plants
- Pass Department of Transportation’s physical examination
