Job Description
Join our amazing team at The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta as the next great step in your career. We are looking to add a Part-time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician, the license must be current
- 3+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
- Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
- Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Placing IV catheters
- Digital radiology including positioning.
- Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
- Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- TPR
- Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
- Excellent client communication/education
- Saturdays required
