Purchasing Manager sought to join the team at AMETEK Hamilton Precision Metals plant in Lancaster, PA. The role will negotiate and procure all goods and services with a focus on quality, delivery performance, and cost.
Requirements
- Maintain safe work areas and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules.
- Convert approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders.
- Obtain order confirmations from suppliers.
- Work with Scheduling, Sales, and Operations to ensure material availability to meet customer delivery needs.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain price and delivery information for sales RFQ’s.
- Communicate with vendors to investigate/resolve discrepant invoices and unbilled purchase receipts.
- Coordinate corrective actions with Engineering and Suppliers for non-conforming products and disposition accordingly.
- Participate in departmental projects to reduce costs, improve quality, and on-time delivery.
- Lead operational excellence cost savings initiatives through the Purchasing department.
- Continuously seek out and advise management of ways to continuously improve the quality of the process or methods employed in the day-to-day activities of the function and participate in implementation of approved changes.
- Establish new supply agreements with vendors as needed.
- If required, limited travel to support procurement at other SMP locations.
- Perform or assist with any departmental operations and workflows to meet production schedules, requirements, and track established KPI’s.
- Recommend revisions to control documentation such as production check lists, operating procedures, and policy manuals. Make and distribute authorized modifications as required.
- Maintain tax forms, government and import documents, along with certificate of insurance as required.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Update SDS books and logs as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
