Staff Software Engineer

Amplitude is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work on its OLAP engine, Nova, building and evolving core query engine infrastructure, driving cost and performance at scale, and improving reliability and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has experience with distributed data systems, OLAP systems, and cloud infrastructure, and can influence technical direction through their work and mentorship of other engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience in backend or infrastructure engineering, with depth in distributed data systems
• Hands-on experience building or extending analytical/OLAP systems
• Track record of driving significant cost optimization on cloud infrastructure at scale
• Strong computer science fundamentals: distributed systems, data structures and algorithms, concurrency and multi-threading, performance optimization
