Endoscopy Technician

Endoscopy Technician responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, working collaboratively with physicians and team members, and ensuring proper care and use of instruments and equipment.

Requirements

• Assist patients with preparing for procedures
• Assist physicians during procedures
• Handle patient specimens per policy
• Accurately complete laboratory slips and culture/path slips
• Report observed changes in patient condition to Endoscopy/Recovery Room nurse
• Restock supplies as appropriate for the next procedure or end of the day
• Collaborate with healthcare team to prepare endoscopy suite according to patient, physician, and procedure requirements
• Maintain high level disinfection and/or sterility of instruments and supplies
• Proactively participate in QAPI and Safety Programs
• Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to Code of Conduct and center policies and procedures
• Provide a safe environment for patients and communicate safety concerns appropriately
• Legibly document when necessary in the performance of job
• Promote patient and physician satisfaction
• Practice appropriate aseptic techniques and sterile processes
• Wear appropriate Personal Protected Equipment (PPE)
• Observe universal precautions
• Refer situations beyond ability or function to proper person
• Attend all required education
