We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team, responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within our organization.
Requirements
- 5 plus years of experience within the Environment Health and Safety field in a manufacturing industry setting.
- A plus if candidate possesses 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience or providing support to a maintenance department.
- BA/BS Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field desired and/or years of industry experience can substitute for education.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of environmental, health & safety regulations, principles and practices with regulatory training as necessary
- Knowledge with CAL-OSHA, CAL-EPA, DOT, NFPA
- Knowledge of how to handle hazardous waste
- Demonstrated project management, planning, team building, and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effectively uses power and hand tools
- Able to work within specific time lines meeting critical deadlines
- Knowledge of safe operation procedures; LOTO, safety welding practices, PPE use, etc
- Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and maintenance databases (a plus)
- Ability to read, write and understand blueprints (a plus)
- Desired Certifications: OSHA Certification, HAZWOPER Incident Commander, Train the Trainer Certification, Forklift Certification, CPR Certification
