Mechanical Engineer

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team, focusing on the design and development of advanced complex opto-mechanical and structural and electronics packing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, development, analysis, and manufacturing tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision space structures and mechanisms in a program team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering (BSME), or MS with 5 plus years of experience in design, hardware, or integrated product development and testing, and excellent leadership/communication
• Prior or current experience with spaceflight imaging applications, especially related to optical systems
• Proficiency in various CAD tools and openness to using new software, with the ability to create high-quality engineering drawings that meet industry standards
• Experience in working with engineering teams from conceptual through detailed design phases
• Strong skills in material selection, finishing, component sizing, system design, and troubleshooting
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
• Experience with machining and fabrication processes, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing
• Ability to produce detailed drawings meeting industry standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5 GD&T) and regulatory requirements
• Ability to drive projects from concept to completion
• Excellent written and verbal skills for documentation, presentations, and collaboration
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
