Senior Optical Engineer - AI&T, Space Imaging

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Optical Engineer - AI&T, Space Imaging to work on assembly, integration, and testing of novel optical systems for spaceborne systems. The team will focus on developing state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software, deployed to tackle significant security challenges. Experience in complex opto-mechanical systems, optical assembly, integration, and testing is required, with a strong background in free space optical systems integration and development for space or airborne environments.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or Physics/Astronomy with a concentration in Optics
• 5+ years of experience with complex opto-mechanical systems, performing optical assembly, integration, and testing in the workforce
• Strong experience on free space optical systems integration and development for a space or airborne environment
• Knowledge of electro-optical systems specification, development, manufacturing, and testing
• Experience with optical tolerancing, lens manufacturing methods, and drawing standards
• Knowledge and experience in laboratory testing, including optical component testing, optical system alignment, and testing
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
• Proficiency in data analysis in Matlab, Python, or similar
