The Environmental Superintendent leads all environmental and regulatory functions for the Beatty Mining District, ensuring full compliance with environmental laws, permits, and company standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and exceptional communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Biology, Ecology, or a related environmental discipline.
- 7â10 years of environmental management experience in the mining industry or a related heavy industrial environment.
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal mining regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental compliance standards.
- Experience developing, managing, and optimizing Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Strong regulatory expertise with an emphasis on mining compliance and sustainable operational practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Ability to anticipate issues, identify solutions, and make strategic decisions within regulatory and operational constraints.
- Commitment to environmental conservation and responsible resource management.
- Deep knowledge of NEPA processes and Nevada permitting requirements.
- Experience leading environmental incident investigations and developing corrective action plans.
- Ability to assess, interpret, and apply regulatory statutes and anticipate upcoming changes.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Excellent critical thinking and complex problemâsolving skills.
- High accountability and ownership of environmental responsibilities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with management, staff, and regulatory agencies.
- Must have the right to work in the United States.
- Valid driverâs license for travel to and from mine sites.
