Southern CA - Carpenter

A Carpenter constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, metal, wallboard, etc., using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes.

Requirements

• Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, metal, wallboard, etc.
• Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required
• Select specified type of materials
• Prepare layout, using tape, framing square, etc.
• Shape materials to prescribed measurements, using power and hand tools
• Assemble, cut and shape materials and fasten them together with applicable fasteners
• Verify trueness of structures constructed prior to completion
• Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls
• Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware
• Work safely and maintain a safe work environment
