Job Description
We're seeking an experienced High Voltage Senior Structural Engineer with a specific focus on high-voltage substations and electrical infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for managing and executing structural scopes for substation projects from concept through IFC, including design of foundations for control enclosures, transformers, breakers, dead-ends, and other major HV equipment.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience, including at least 3–5 years specifically supporting high voltage substations or transmission infrastructure
- Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, STAAD, or equivalent FEA tools)
- Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience a plus
- Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, NESC, IEEE, utility-specific structural criteria)
- Experience with interpretation of geotechnical reports and integration of foundation parameters (bearing capacity, LPILE, corrosion, etc.)
- Excellent communication, coordination, and client-facing skills
