Job Description
Boiler Plant Operator/Boiler Technician needed to support the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Must be able to obtain a South Dakota Rural Water License for Basic water treatment and perform moderate to strenuous effort, including long periods of walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Requirements
- Uses electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls to determine adjustments for boiler operations
- Monitors and tests the operation of high pressure steam boiler systems
- Performs operational maintenance and repairs on mechanical parts and systems
- Takes samples of the boiler feed water and tests them for proper chemical levels
- Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on plant systems and equipment
