Staff+ Software Security Engineer

Anthropic is seeking a Staff+ Software Security Engineer to join its Security Engineering team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining complex security systems, mentoring engineers, and contributing to the company's mission to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The team works across multiple areas, including identity and secrets management, developer security, infrastructure security, and secure frameworks.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience with deep security expertise
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• Strong programming skills in Python or at least one systems language
• Deep understanding of identity systems, cryptographic primitives, and secrets management
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes security primitives
• Experience leading cross-functional security initiatives and navigating complex organizational dynamics
