The Resident Maintenance Technician reports daily to the Scout SUV assembly plant or the Apex Tool Group plant, performing electromechanical technician duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fastening equipment and systems. The role involves working with customer engineering, assembly line builder, and end-user plant personnel to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Associate's Degree in a technical discipline (engineering tech, Field Bus, electronics), preferred
- 3+ years of industrial assembly experience, preferred
- 2+ years of experience in performance and functional testing, preferred
- Capable of reading electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings
- Experience with LAN/WAN networks, preferred
- Basic knowledge of computer systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to verbally express and exchange ideas with customers and company employees
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication
- Strong written communication skills with internal and external partners
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
- Resourceful, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude must have the initiative to resolve problems and seek answers independently, and enthusiastically persist until goals are achieved
- Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and demanding situations
- Participation in a required training program in Germany for approximately 1 to 2 months during the first year of employment
