The Manufacturing Process Engineer will review designs, set manufacturing practices, partner with cross-functional teams, develop and improve processes, drive corrective actions, and provide manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are manufacturable. This role involves frequent communication with management and potential international travel to supplier sites.
Requirements
- Review and provide feedback on design/design intent of components and assemblies.
- Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine impact to design and parameters to the final product.
- Partner with internal and external cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes.
- Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering.
- Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members.
- Drive design experiments to prove out manufacturing processes or design iterations.
- Provide early and on going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable.
- Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency.
- Present technical issues and updates to Apple management team and cross functional team on a frequent basis.
- Provide creative solutions for engineering challenges or issues related to assembly process.
