Job Description
Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. As a Software Architect, you'll lead complex, cross-organization common solutions across multiple systems and teams, while staying close to the code and ensuring decisions are grounded in real-world implementation.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering
- At least 7 years in hands-on development (Java, C#, Python, or similar)
- 5+ years as architect/tech lead
- Deep knowledge of software architecture principles, including security, scalability, maintainability, and volatility
- Experience deploying production-grade solutions in both cloud and non-cloud environments
- Strong background in integrating open-source and commercial solutions into holistic architectures
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD processes
- Experience with data management, analytics, or big data systems
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical talent
