Job Description
Responsible to perform clerical and administrative functions in a medical front office setting, assisting in the coordination of ophthalmology care services to a large patient population.
Requirements
- Run monthly report of Assign office and mark in calendar each day of service.
- Verify patient's insurance.
- Request authorization to pharmacy, primary doctor and insurance company.
- Call in or fax each prescription.
- Follow up with insurance and primary doctor for authorizations.
- Follow up with pharmacy for medication.
- Make alert when medications arrive.
- Create new order in PODIS, as soon as a delivery date is given by the pharmacist.
- Receive injections in PODIS the same day they are delivered.
- Remove PODIS expired doses.
- Dispose expired injections on safety bio-hazard red box.
- Enter all authorizations in the system before patient gets to the office.
- Fridge log inventory is due every 1st of the month.
- Scan in anything that was pending after the dos.
- Answer to any task requested by billing regarding injections.
- Canceling and rescheduling appointments.
- Sending LMC the report of the patient's that were injected every Monday before 10am.
- Having injections for LMC driver ready for the pick every Wednesday.
- Answering the phones.
