Enrichment Instructor - STEM

The Enrichment Instructor for STEM will lead engaging and age-appropriate science classes for students of varying subjects ranges between earth sciences, biological sciences, computer science, and chemistry.

Requirements

• Review curriculum and create lesson plans
• Facilitate classroom-based lessons and activities applicable to elementary through high school age range
• Maintain student engagement in course material and redirect unwanted behaviors
• Maintain course kits, instruments and equipment and see to cleanliness and functionality
• Communicate regularly with Coordinators regarding course matters including material needs, site specifics and curriculum efficacy
• Provide structured warm-up and cool-down activities
• Plan and deliver science classes in concepts based on the scientific method
• Prepare hands-on projects and experiments that allow students to showcase what they have learned
• Develop student skills that demonstrate understanding and creates a fun and positive learning environment
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and support students in comprehension of scientific concepts
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities and experience levels
• Stay current with trends that are relevant and interesting for a range of student interests
• Encourage collaboration among students
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
• Maintain attendance records and participate in staff meetings or training sessions as needed
