It operates one of the nation’s largest private Catholic school systems, consistently earning Blue Ribbon Awards of Excellence, and runs Catholic Charities, the region’s largest nonprofit social‑service agency that assists about one million people annually in Cook and Lake Counties. The archdiocese also pioneers community‑based initiatives such as the national‑scale Pastoral Migratoria immigrant‑to‑immigrant ministry and a violence‑prevention program that partners with local organizations to address the root causes of Chicago’s violence. Together, these programs reflect the archdiocese’s commitment to education, social justice, and mission‑driven outreach, offering diverse career opportunities for those who want to serve the Church and the broader community.
