Job Description
The Archives Office at the Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking enthusiastic student interns to assist with archival tasks. The internship is unpaid and involves a variety of projects, including cataloging, reviewing, describing, and arranging records, as well as assisting with inventory and arranging collection sets. Interns will work under supervision, uphold archival standards, and contribute to the organization’s mission.
Requirements
- Assist in daily requests for reference and sacramental information.
- Assist in projects based on interest in archival studies, records management, or digitization.
- Understand different forms of Archives.
- Review archival standards and utilize reference guides.
- Perform a small collection and do a basic inventory.
- Review a small collection and establish a plan for arrangement using standards.
- Learn about describing collections using DAC standards.
- Identify key items and scan them with archival standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and prioritize the well-being of the team and self.
- Adhere to the Arch diocese's Code of Conduct and Faith & Moral Policy.
