The Accountant 1 position performs accounting tasks to support the financial operations of the credit union. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting.
Requirements
- Provides exceptional member service
- Actively participates in meeting the goals of the department and the Credit Union
- Work cooperatively with others as part of a formal or informal team
- Uses organizational tools and techniques to complete tasks on time
- Independently completes the established accounts payable process
- Reconciles assigned general ledger (GL) accounts
- Books daily activity for Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and Catalyst or assigned correspondent bank
- Support process improvements and automation initiatives
- Provides necessary documentation and reports during regulatory examinations and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) audits
- Maintains a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), and complies with all laws/regulations applicable to area(s) of responsibility
