The Summer Camp Assistant is an entry-level role within Public Programs in the Learning & Engagement Division. This position includes a high degree of interaction with the public, volunteers, educators, and teaching artists, providing essential support for Crystal Bridges Summer Camps.
Requirements
- Assist teaching artists and educators in creating and maintaining a clean, safe, inclusive, and cooperative learning environment.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials, supplies, and equipment for daily camp activities; support classroom setup and end-of-day cleanup.
- Provide instructional support through one-on-one and group assistance during artmaking and camp activities.
- Accompany and assist campers during transitions, including drop-off/pick-up, movement across museum campus, and gallery visits.
- Support campers with and without disabilities, helping implement behavior support strategies as needed.
- Supervise campers during breaks, lunch, outdoor activities, and in the galleries, maintaining safety and awareness in all situations.
- Perform physical tasks related to daily camp operations, including kneeling, stooping, standing, and lifting materials.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding camper information in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines.
- Keep accurate and timely records related to camper attendance, behavior notes, and camp operations, as appropriate.
- Identify and report safety concerns; learn and follow museum policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
