Job Description
Provide critical technical support to a brand-new U.S. Navy initiative as a Simulation Systems Engineer, contributing to advancing naval aviation training and ensuring Warfighter readiness and mission success. This role requires 3-6 month long deployments on U.S. Navy ships and involves working with distributed simulation environments and interoperability standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in a technical area of study (plus)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with distributed simulation environments, particularly in support of aircrew or military aviation training
- In-depth knowledge of simulation software used for maintenance, operational simulation, control, threat generation, monitoring, and briefing/debriefing
- Strong understanding of Navy fighter and Command and Control (C2) platforms, including mission systems, interoperability, and threat management
- Proficient in distributed simulation protocols such as DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation) and HLA (High-Level Architecture), with a solid grasp of network connectivity requirements
- Hands-on experience with NGTS or other Semi-Automated Forces (SAF) simulation platforms (plus)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and Authorization to Operate (ATO) requirements (plus)
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
- Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently
- Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities
- Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
