The Indirect Tax Intern will support the company's indirect tax compliance, reporting, and research processes, with hands-on exposure to sales & use tax, VAT/GST, property tax, and other transaction-based taxes.
Requirements
- Assist with preparation and filing of sales and use tax, excise tax, gross receipts tax, and other indirect tax returns
- Gather and analyze transactional data to support monthly and quarterly filings
- Support review of tax notices, assessments, and refund claims
- Reconcile tax-related accounts and validate data extracted from ERP systems
- Assist in maintaining tax rate tables and exemption certificate management systems
- Support testing of system configurations, including tax logic updates and enhancements
- Conduct basic indirect tax research using tax tools and state/local guidance
- Summarize regulatory changes and support documentation for audits or inquiries
- Assist in analyzing new business initiatives for potential indirect tax impact
- Collect and organize documentation for internal and external audits
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Partner with accounting, procurement, legal, and operations teams to support tax-related inquiries
