The Carpenter - Maintenance performs general inspection, maintenance, and repair of building exterior and interior and other base infrastructure. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring that all structural work complies with Kirtland AFB Design Guide Standards and federal, state, and local building codes.
Requirements
- Minimum education level of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of six (6) months of carpentry/painting in commercial or manufacturing spaces.
- Be able to read and interpret building diagrams and technical manuals.
- Competency in basic mathematic skills including fractions, addition, subtraction, division.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Must have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
- Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Be capable of performing work in a field environment requiring full range of motion and movement; be able to perform physical activities including climbing and working at heights greater than 50 feet, crawling, working outdoors, and repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
