Ophthalmic Scribe/Tech

Ophthalmic Scribe/Tech performs preliminary work-up of patients, scribes for Physicians, and assists with examinations and treatment. Prepares patients and rooms, measures visual acuity, and performs visual field testing. Prepares patients for treatments and minor procedures, measures vital signs, and keeps examination rooms clean and stocked. Provides excellent customer service and may consent patients for treatment and procedures.

Requirements

• Skilled in ophthalmic terminology
• Ability to type words accurately with speed and knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
• Strong attention to detail and expert keyboard (Scribe) skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others (teamwork) and provide superior customer service to patients
