Assystem is seeking a Quality Engineer - Welding to contribute to the technical assessment of engineering queries raised by the site Contractor on the M&E scope across the CI/BOP and Nuclear Island buildings. The role will involve responding to queries, providing oversight to ensure nuclear safety and environmental regulation requirements are met, and supporting the integrated team with technical assessment of contractor queries.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience in welding engineering.
- A background in mechanical engineering would be advantageous.
- Experience applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry.
- Knowledge of the construction / installation industry.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
- Experience / understanding of welding engineering and NDT in nuclear or high hazard industries
- Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a site environment.
- Ability to work independently, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues.
