Mechatronics Engineer - Intern

Role Overview

As a Mechatronics Engineering Intern, you will play an important role in the development of electronic and mechanical systems, assist with Continuous Improvement initiatives, and assist with the installation or modification of new and existing equipment. You will work closely with the Engineering team to design, develop, and implement projects to change manufacturing at Astemo Rock Spring into the future.

What You Will Do

Assist in finding, testing, and implementing solutions for Automation within our organization, research Automation and Controls materials and best practices, understand and design wiring diagrams for new and existing equipment, and design and troubleshoot mechanical systems for manufacturing and automation.

Requirements

• Working towards an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, electrical engineering or related field
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical data ensuring accurate decision-making and specification adherence
• Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for process design, simulation, and optimization
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials used in the automotive industry
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Enthusiasm to learn and willingness to take on new challenges
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
