Job Description
Astra is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and build systems that support rocket testing and launch operations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in mechanical/structural design and be proficient in CAD and PLM software tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in mechanical/structural design
- Experience with a variety of structural design processes including fabrication, post weld heat treatment and machining
- Ability to analyze welded joints using hand-calcs and FEA per AWS or equivalent standard
- Experience with bolted joint design
- Proficiency in CAD and PLM software tools, particularly with large, shared assemblies
- Ability to own projects from beginning to end with little oversight
