Assists the anesthesia care provider with preparing and using equipment's, providing supplies and medications during the administration of anesthesia. Performs under general supervision of the licensed anesthesia care provider designated by the client facility.
Requirements
- Provides anesthesia technician services to patients under direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider.
- Cleans, sterilizes, disinfects, orders/stocks, and maintains routine anesthesia equipment's.
- Maintains anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment's according to the needs and schedules.
- Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia and with consideration and knowledge of age-specific issues related to meeting the needs of the various patient groups.
- Performs basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment's and reports defects or malfunctions in equipment's appropriately/immediately.
- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records.
- Assists with transportation of patients and laboratory specimens as necessary.
- Participates in multidisciplinary rounds/meetings as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
