Job Description
The Principal Organist is responsible for fostering a spiritual atmosphere through the use of Sacred Music in the parishes of St. George in Odessa and St. Jude in Oak Grove. This role involves selecting music for the liturgy, performing organ music, maintaining cantors and musicians, and assisting with various events. The position requires a deep passion for the church and its musical traditions.
Requirements
- Weekly selection of music for the Sacred Liturgy.
- Perform organ music for all weekend and Holy Day liturgies.
- Replace music as needed for weekends and holidays.
- Train cantors and musicians.
- Assist with weddings and funerals (when needed).
- Assist the pastor/administrator with other tasks.
