Job Description
The Musician supports the liturgical life of St Joseph Catholic Church by providing instrumental accompaniment for weekend Masses, Holy Days, sacramental celebrations, and other parish liturgies or events.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency on the instrument(s) used in liturgy
- Experience performing in worship or ensemble settings
- Familiarity with Catholic liturgy and sacred music
- Strong musical technique and sight-reading ability
- Ability to collaborate with singers and other instrumentalists
- Reliable, punctual, and prepared for all scheduled commitments
- Comfortable adapting to various musical styles appropriate to Catholic worship
- Respect for the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Professional and pastoral demeanor in a liturgical environment
- Willingness to support a prayerful atmosphere through reverent and thoughtful music-making
