Job Description
Short-term substitute teachers provide instruction to students when teachers are absent, covering classroom responsibilities and supervising student activities. This is a part-time position for some days and a full-time position for others. Teachers are compensated at a higher rate. Long-term substitutes work daily for an extended period.
Requirements
- Cover assigned teacher's classroom and non-classroom responsibilities
- Report student attendance and lunch count to the main office
- Monitor and ensure student safety at all times
- Provide instruction based on lesson plans
- Supervise recess and/or lunch duty according to teacher's supervision schedule
- Collect and secure assignments to be graded by the teacher
- Make lesson plans following the curriculum
- Grade assignments, tests and quizzes
- Attend faculty meetings
- Commit to our Code of Conduct policy
- Complete online and in-person trainings
