Job Description
Avantus is seeking a highly motivated and organized Principal Engineer for the Transmission & Interconnection team. This role focuses on providing interconnection strategy for utility-scale solar and storage projects, performing analysis on the transmission system, and leading projects through all phases. The team supports projects in multiple ISO’s and vertically integrated markets, and prioritizes optimizing project outcomes.
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of related experience in interconnection & project development or transmission planning at a utility, ISO/RTO, or project developer.
- Deep understanding of CAISO & WECC tariffs, interconnection processes, and transmission service processes.
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, & Google Earth.
- Experience developing lasting relationships with utilities, consulting firms, ISO/RTOs, and regulators.
