Shelter Advocate - Safer Futures - Shift Worker, Less Than 20 Hours/Week

Safer Futures is seeking a Shift Worker, Less Than 20 Hours/Week to provide crisis intervention and advocacy to victims of domestic violence in their shelter. The role involves providing support to victims, maintaining client confidentiality, and enforcing shelter rules. A key responsibility is reporting suspected child abuse and ensuring a safe environment for residents.

Requirements

• Provide direct service/advocacy/peer support to victims of domestic violence.
• Maintain client confidentiality.
• Maintain the shelter in a clean and orderly manner.
• Assist with donations and documentation.
• Attend staff meetings and training.
• Comply with agency policies and regulations.
• Ability to work with a diverse population.
• Ability to work in a stressful/crisis-oriented environment.
• Understanding of domestic violence.
• Ability to meet agency requirements for background checks.
