Reporter, Axios Cincinnati

Axios is hiring a Reporter to cover Cincinnati and the northern suburbs as part of their local news initiative. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the local market, strong reporting skills, and a passion for innovative storytelling.

Requirements

• Co-authoring a daily and twice-weekly Axios newsletter
• A command of the local market and sourcing necessary to illuminate busy readers
• Helping build Axios Local and shape how the product evolves
• Ability to create stories across multiple platforms
• Experience covering news and a deep understanding of Cincinnati and surrounding region
• Excellent sources and ability to create new ones
• Strong reporting skills and comfort working independently and on deadline
• Ability to decipher data, break news and create conceptual scoops
• Background in understanding local and national news coverage more broadly
• A belief in and dedication to writing in Smart Brevity
