Principal AI Engineer

Backbase is hiring a Principal AI Engineer to drive the vision of the Agentic AI Automation Platform, building intelligent, context-aware agentic systems for global banks.

Requirements

• 6 years in software engineering
• 3+ years developing and delivering enterprise-grade AI applications
• Proficient in Python
• Deep hands-on experience in Agentic AI frameworks, architectures, design patterns, knowledge-base, AI-search, retrieval-augmented generation, context engineering, evaluation, and guardrailing
• Well-versed in modern AI agent patterns including MCP, A2A, ACP
• MLOps / LLMOps Savvy: Model lifecycle management, prompt versioning, fine tuning, context management, agent monitoring, and AI experimentation using platforms like Azure AI Foundry, HuggingFace, and LangChain
