Social Media Summer Intern - 2026

Join a Pulitzer Award Winning Newsroom! The Banner 2026 Summer Newsroom Internship Program is a paid internship opportunity that will provide hands-on work experience within a fast-paced digital newsroom.

Requirements

• Experience from a college newspaper or previous internship
• Interesting story ideas
• Clear and concise writing skills
• Previous experience with producing social media videos
• Familiarity with softwares such as Canva, CapCut and/or Adobe Premier
• Knowledge of emerging trends and journalism and digital communications
• Openness to new ideas, editing and learning from veteran journalists and editors
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Flexibility and ability to adjust to the changing news cycle
• Ability to learn about new subjects quickly and accurately
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
