Job Description
BambooHR is seeking a Distinguished Architect to lead the company's Data Technology Architecture. The role involves defining and stewarding the architectural vision for the company's data technology platform, ensuring alignment and interoperability across domains. The position requires 10+ years of experience designing and operating data storage technology at scale in cloud-native SaaS, as well as expertise in security, tenancy, reliability, and observability.
Requirements
- 10+ years designing and operating data storage technology at scale in cloud-native SaaS
- Proven ownership of data movement through developer portals and partner onboarding/marketplaces
- Deep security & tenancy: OAuth2/OIDC, scope design, RBAC/ABAC, multi-tenant isolation, auditing, privacy-preserving patterns, and compliance baked into workflows
- Reliability & observability fluency: tracing/logs/metrics, SLO/error-budget culture, chaos/DR patterns, secure webhook delivery
- DevEx & efficiency impact: measurable DORA improvements, faster time-to-first-service, and improved unit economics/FinOps
