Job Description
The Phlebotomy Technician performs phlebotomy functions, obtains blood specimens, and performs related clerical duties.
Requirements
- Perform phlebotomy procedures according to established policies and procedures.
- Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes.
- Maintain high specimen quality.
- Operate assigned equipment and perform procedures in a safe manner.
- Perform EKG's according to established procedures.
- Act as a receptionist, greet patients, and answer phones in the lab.
- Accept changes in assignment and perform work of equal skill and responsibility.
- Maintain equipment in the condition required by department standards.
