Reporting to the Director, Advising and Programs, the Associate Director serves as a front-line career advisor for students and alumnae, building expertise in job documents, interview best practices, career exploration, and other topics.
Requirements
- Conduct individual advising with students and alumnae on all topics covered by Beyond Barnard
- Hire, train, and co-manage a team of Peer Career Advisors
- Recruit candidates across majors, professional interests, and cohorts
- Manage all aspects of the hiring process, including screening and interviewing
- Design training schedule and materials, identify full-time staff to lead individual training sessions
- Co-lead weekly PCA team staff meetings
- Oversee performance reviews with PCAs (including observation of PCA advising appointments)
- Lead performance improvement process for PCAs as required
- Plan professional development opportunities for PCAs
- Provide leadership for Beyond Barnard's mentorship and alumnae advising initiatives
- Contribute to Beyond Barnard's programming series
- Assist with all major Beyond Barnard and Division of Community Engagement & Lifelong Success events
- Develop, implement, and manage best practices around integration of new and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence
- Represent the College and Beyond Barnard to internal stakeholders and at specified regional professional association conferences and professional development workshops
