After School Program TK/K Instructor (Oakland Elementary Schools)

After School Program TK/K Instructor responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students. Ideal candidate is creative, energetic, and passionate about education and youth development.

Requirements

• Must have an a) Associate Degree or higher, or b) 48 college units, or c) pass the Instructional Aide exam
• Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance
• Must be able to work every day during after-school hours and commit to an academic school year
• Must have previous experience working with kids and the ability to independently lead and supervise up to 22 students
• Must be able to communicate openly, professionally, and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Must have basic technology & computer skills
• Will be expected to complete all mandated training
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time

• $500 signing bonus after 90 days of successful continuous employment
• Pay rate: $22 - $24 an hour DOE
• Hours negotiated upon hiring (22-24 hours per week, depending on location and need)
