The Student Worker - Undergraduate Research Assistant position provides hands-on experience with research methods commonly used in speech-language pathology, vocal performance, and health science fields.
Requirements
- Participating in data collection sessions with study participants
- Conducting data analysis and learning data interpretation techniques
- Assisting with dissemination tasks (e.g., preparing conference posters, contributing to manuscripts)
- Training on hardware used in voice research and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Learning and using basic MATLAB and Praat scripts
- Working with data in Excel
- Supporting lab safety and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
- Attending and participating in lab meetings, as needed
- Developing familiarity with research methods in speech-language pathology, voice science, and related fields
- Strengthening professional writing, reading, and oral communication skills
- Learning to articulate research methods and results in a clear, professional manner
