Bechtel is hiring Military Veteran Opportunity - Structural Designer. This role will support design development of structural engineering designs for the project. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and a can-do attitude.
Requirements
- BS degree in a related field with 8 years of related design experience or AA/AS degree with 7-8 years of related design experience.
- Minimum 4 years of active-duty military service in the United States Armed Forces, with an honorable discharge.
- Experience in the use of Bechtel standard applications of CAD software.
- Experienced user of Tekla Structures.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with the provisions of AISC, ACI, UBC, and OSHA codes.
- Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
- Familiarity with the methods of procurement and control of bulk materials.
- Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other disciplines associated with Facilities Design.
- Ability to independently execute the detailed design drawings of structural systems of high complexity.
- Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.
- Ability to resolve design issues with subordinates, other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
- Ability to issue a clear and concise direction to subordinate designers and drafters.
