Public Safety Officer - 32 Hours Evening Shift

The Public Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Mount Auburn Hospital. This includes responding to emergencies, conducting patrols, and reporting loss prevention issues and safety hazards. The officer must also demonstrate an understanding of job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment, as well as a commitment to meeting and exceeding the needs of customers.

Requirements

• Responds promptly to emergencies, codes, and alarms in accordance with the Public Safety Management Program and the Emergency Management Policy
• Coordinates with local Police, Fire, and Emergency personnel as directed
• Conducts emergency contraband searches of patient rooms and property, taking possession of any discovered weapons, needles, substances (like Fentanyl), and other items presenting an immediate risk to life safety
• Maintains a positive public relations attitude, including maintaining positive posture, polite, and respectful communications with patients, families, visitors, and other employees
• Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department
