Surgical Technician I

The Surgical Technician I is responsible for performing surgical technology services that contribute to safe, quality and fiscally responsible care of patients. The role requires a novice who practices with maximal guidance and direction.

Requirements

• Collaborate with the circulating nurse prior to a surgical procedure
• Prepare the operating room, gather and prepare supplies, instruments and equipment
• Maintain the sterile field using sterile and aseptic technique
• Recognize, intervene, and report situations that impede patient safety
• Facilitate efficient turnover time by prioritizing activities related to equipment and instrumentation
