Intermediate Interior Designer

The TFMS Intermediate Interior Designer is part of a team delivering Space Layout & Interior design, Functional Space Planning and Furniture Procurement Support services. The intermediate design role supports information gathering, needs analysis, space planning and design development activities for complex projects as well as working drawings for low complexity design projects.

Requirements

• Proficient in interior design and documentation.
• Excellent drafting and AutoCAD skills.
• Ability to develop 3D models and rendering using sketchup, AutoCAD 3D or other.
• Knowledge and understanding of building and fire codes, accessibility standards and other industry standards such as LEED, WELL or others.
• Ability to develop creative and functional interior design solutions to solve client issues.
• Strong communication skills (written, oral and visual) to effectively convey design information and intent as well as general relationship and service delivery tasks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Software proficiencies including MS Excel, MS Project, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, AutoCAD, Sketchp, Bluebeam, Publisher.
• NCIDQ Certification or working towards NCIDQ certification.
• BAID degree from a CIDA accredited post-secondary school or equivalent program (CIDA accredited).
• LEED AP & or WELL AP is an asset including development.
