The Director of Finance will be a key part of a high-performing operational leadership team and dedicated to supporting the financial oversight of Bird’s Civil and Infrastructure Business Unit for Eastern Canada.
Requirements
- CPA, CFA or equivalent professional designation.
- University degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a management role within construction, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of project accounting and cost control.
- Experience with construction major projects is considered an asset.
- Experience working in a public company and / or IFRS accounting standards would be considered an asset.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
- Ability to build relationships, influence and collaborate across a growing national organization with teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentations, with all levels of the organization.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and delivery models including IPD and Alliance, ideally having worked with external Joint Ventures.
- Ability to manage a large volume of work and consistently meet deadlines while ensuring high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can be brought to varied and unpredictable situations and challenges.
